Born in 1902, Danish designer Arne Jacobsen enjoyed worldwide success for his simple yet stylish furniture designs. However, he believed he was first and foremost an architect.
Jacobsen’s most famous furniture designs are the Swan Chair as well as the iconic Egg Chair which he designed in 1958.
These popular designs were originally built for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen where Jacobsen designed everything from the building to the furniture in what was one of the world’s first ‘designer’ hotels.
His simplistic style still stand as a benchmark for contemporary furniture to this very day.
